Advice

Would you like some advice or do you need help for someone and/or yourself? Phone Veilig Thuis on this free national helpline: 0800-2000.
You will hear a recorded message asking you for the name of the place where you live or that of the person you are phoning for. You will then be put through straight away to a member of staff in the right region.
This number is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Dutch language

If you do not speak Dutch, or it is difficult for you to express yourself in Dutch, please ensure that someone can help you with the language.

Veilig Thuis is also the place to report any suspicions you may have about domestic violence or child abuse that affects someone you know.

Help

You can ask questions or pour out your feelings. You will be speaking to a care worker on the phone who will listen attentively to what you have to say, answer your questions and give you advice. With your approval, the care worker will also look and see whether there is professional help available for you and if so, which type. If you need to attend an appointment, you can always take someone along with you who speaks Dutch and who can act as an interpreter, should you need this.

The free helpline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week; just phone 0800-2000.
